What We've Been Up to

In August we were in Sheffield twice, visiting Chris' tool sponsor, Henry Taylor Tools. The first visit was for their Open Day, which was very well attended and it was great to see some old friends. We were back with the team a week or so later for a proper catch up and to talk about Chris' role as an Ambassador for Henry Taylor Tools.

It was also UKMSA's annual ShedFest event at the University of Worcester. It's an important day in our calendar. Chris spent the day turning fountain pens, with one raffled to raise funds for UKMSA. We also spoke to the keynote speaker, Lord Andy Roe, who shared his experience in the Fire Brigade and compared the community within the service with Sheds. It was a very inspiring speech and quite emotional in places. Andy really got the function and purpose of Sheds and understood their importance for so many Shedders.

A week later we were driving down to Berkshire for one of Dalmann Timber's Open Days. Chris turned a Hardwick candle stand and a bowl. We enjoyed a very warm welcome and amazing hospitality. If you haven't visited Dalmann - it is huge! With an awe-inspiring range of timbers, mostly exotic hardwoods.

While we're travelling, Bamber now goes to a local kennel. He wasn't happy when we first left him and we both wondered how he would fare. We didn't need to worry - when we went to pick him up, he was in no rush to come home. He'd had a great time and clearly enjoyed being with Diane, the kennel owner.
